Our Level 5 Coaching Professional apprenticeship uis for staff who already work in a role with exposure to team development and want to develop advanced interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to drive behavioural change. By building advanced interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, learners will understand how to drive behavioural change to unlock potential and lead transformation.
Apprentices will develop core leadership skills, build trust and strengthen emotional intelligence to create high-performing teams. With a focus on developing skills in leadership, performance management, and business change, this programme prepares people leaders to inspire their teams and adapt to the ever-evolving demands of their industry.
The Level 5 Coaching Professional apprenticeship costs £5,000 per learner which includes End-Point Assessment.
Funding
Apprenticeships can be funded from your Apprenticeship Levy or by Government Co-Invest. If you do not pay the Levy, the Government will fund 95% of the programme, meaning you pay as little as £250 per person you enrol. We are also able to offer privately funded places for any employees not eligible for apprenticeship funding. For further information about funding options, eligibility and costs, please contact us.

Duration: 15 months
The Level 5 Coaching Professional apprenticeship typically takes 15 months to complete, followed by a period of end-point assessment of approximately 3 months.

We can begin a closed intake apprenticeship at any time that suits your brand. We require a minimum of 10 learners to offer a closed cohort for Level 5 Coaching Professional.

The course will consist of a blend of workshops, coaching and progress reviews, approximately every 3 - 4 weeks.

- Apply understanding of organisational values, leadership styles, and stakeholder agendas.
- Interpret the role of coaching alongside other approaches such as mentoring, counselling, and training.
- Recognise and navigate wider systemic influences on coaching relationships and goals.
Data-Driven Decision Making & Problem Solving
- Use coaching evaluation methods to demonstrate impact, return on investment, and value delivery.
- Gather feedback and use reflective practice models (e.g., Kolb, Gibbs, Schön) to improve coaching effectiveness.
- Identify patterns of thinking, limiting beliefs, and enabling actions to support problem-solving and insight.
- Adjust coaching interventions based on insight, feedback, and observed shifts in energy or understanding.
Planning, Project & Resource Management
- Manage time effectively, balancing coaching responsibilities, documentation, and development.
- Structure coaching sessions using goal-setting tools and track progress toward outcomes.
- Plan and adapt coaching interventions based on preferences, needs, and context.
- Maintain coaching records securely, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal requirements.
Business Improvement & Change Management
- Apply diverse coaching models (e.g., GROW, Gestalt, NLP, Thinking Environment) to facilitate behavioural and mindset change.
- Support continuous growth by applying motivational theories (e.g., Maslow, Herzberg) and human potential models.
- Encourage reflective learning and positive action in individuals, helping them navigate personal and professional transformation.
- Use feedback and questioning to drive deeper awareness and change in those receiving coaching.
People & Performance Management
- Work with individuals to set and achieve meaningful goals aligned to personal and professional outcomes.
- Provide developmental feedback that is constructive, respectful, and facilitates performance improvement.
- Promote autonomy, accountability, and non-dependence within the coaching relationship.
- Understand emotional and social intelligence theories.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate the coaching process clearly and professionally, including roles, boundaries, and expectations.
